Virtual Fergus Scottish Festival details announced


Encouraged by the very well received Wee Digital Ceilidh 2020, they are happy to present the Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 GO

Come on, madam! The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2.021 over the weekend of August 13-15, 2021.

This year, the Festival organizers have been creative in producing their second virtual event. Encouraged by the very well received Wee Digital Ceilidh 2020, they are pleased to present the Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 GO. It will be a real plus, bringing the best of the Festival and promoting the four pillars of all Highland Games: Heavy Events, Highland Dance, Clans and Heritage, and Pipes and Drums. The event will also feature all-time favorite artists, the popular McKiddies neighborhood, whiskey tasting, unique videos, tours, lessons and interviews.

The 2nd Annual Paint the Town Tartan Decorating Contest will take place again in 2021. Residents and businesses of Center Wellington can channel their Inner Scots to decorate their homes and premises with tartan and a little bit of all that. Scottish. The categories are Best Tartan House, Best Tartan Company, and Most Creative Youth. Registration is available online now, and there will be prizes!

To mark the Festival’s 75th anniversary, the organizers are delighted to announce a special event that will take place on Thursday, August 12. The 75th Gala 2 Go is a paid event with guests hosting a night of Festival grandeur, featuring an appreciation of whiskey and a variety of exceptional entertainment. The ticket includes a 2 GB Gala box filled with savory bites, limited edition 75th anniversary scotch glasses and all the accessories to complete the evening’s program.

Despite the cancellation of the live event, Festival organizers promise that 2021 activities and the Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 Go will have a stellar and modern take on the traditional event. With a sporran full of surprises, this year will bring guests the sights and sounds of the Festival and Scotland – without the plane ticket!
