Timberwolves Football Women | Sports

The women’s soccer team had another full week of games. So far, these girls have played really well and had some big fights against tough teams – and this week’s two games were no different. Each of them did their best. This 2021 soccer team is going to be one for the books. They now have a total of 21 players which is the greatest team in Goldendale football history. This has been helpful, with some injuries causing the team to make some adjustments last week.

The first game was Tuesday at home against the Mabton Vikings. Their normal goalkeeper was absent due to injury and the game plan had to be changed. Kali Watson stepped in to protect the goal this game. They also cleared an injured player, Dakota Campbell, to play this week and, boy, did she make a splash in her first comeback game. Mabton was another resounding victory for the Timberwolves. Four of the seven goals were scored in the first half. Dakota Campbell with the first. Graeson Mobley scored the second goal thanks to an assist from Dakota Campbell. The third goal was scored by Dakota Campbell. The fourth goal was scored by Graeson Mobley. In the second half, the girls scored three more times to complete the final score. The fifth goal was scored by Addison Bomberger. The sixth goal was scored by Dakota Campbell. The seventh and final goal was scored by Graeson Mobley with an assist from Payton Sheridan.

The girls then had a few days of training and working on a plan of attack against their opponent on Saturday, the Warden Cougars. The Timberwolves faced them once earlier in the season and came home with a win, so they were hoping to do it all over again. But after a long game, over time and another shootout, the girls lost a tough game. But it was not without a great fight. Averie Mell scored Wolves’ first goal and Graeson Mobley scored the second. In overtime, both teams scored once; Graeson Mobley was Goldendale’s scorer.

These girls are so positive and so fighting that they are already looking to get ready for their next games this week. They may need to make some adjustments, but they will be ready. The girls will have two away games, Highland and Grandview. We wish the team good luck!
