Sinclairville Library Lists Events for the Month of May | News, Sports, Jobs


SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library announces the following programs and events during the month:

¯ Evening hours on Mondays and Thursdays will be expanded, with the library remaining open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on those evenings throughout May and June. These extra hours will give students and parents more time to access library resources while students prepare for final exams and projects.

¯ Makerspace Mondays: May 9, 16 and 23 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. With Ozobots: Robotics and Coding. Also available: LEGOS, marble runs, Kinex, building kits and challenges, DIY kits and supplies. For all ages. The parent/guardian must stay with the children. Deposit program.

¯ Country Kids on the Fly on Saturdays at 10.30am. Teaching the art of fly tying. Free fly tying lessons for all children from 8 to 90 years old. Free tools and materials.

¯ Family History: Saturday, May 14 at 10 am A new program for anyone interested in genealogy and writing to preserve family history. Will meet on the second Saturday of the month.

¯ In-person book club on Monday, May 16 at 7 p.m. to discuss The Only Woman in Marie Benedict’s Room. Online book club meeting Monday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss Lisa Wingate’s book Lost Friends. Please contact the library to receive the link. Writer’s Lounge online meeting place for teens and adults interested in writing. Every other Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Meetings on May 12 and 26. Editorial prompts provided with comments from other editors available.

¯ Sinclairville Samplers every Friday at 10:30 a.m. Quilt, knit, crochet, embroider and have fun with friends while you create together.
