Due to what they call “incredibly high demand,” the Flames announced on Saturday that game viewing night will be transitioning to a ticketed event beginning today.

“The decision to upgrade to a paid event was made to improve the fan experience by reducing queuing and wait times for the RED lot and ensuring the safety of everyone in attendance,” said the Flames in a press release. “Tickets will remain free, but will need to be secured in advance, and will be available subject to a strict capacity limit; those who do not have a ticket will not be allowed to enter the RED lot under any circumstances and are asked not to come to the site.

Tickets for the Game 7 viewing party will be available – with a limit of two tickets per person – from 9 a.m. Sunday morning from A ticket to a Flames game will not grant access to the red field.

The red field will open two hours before the scheduled puck drop at 7:30 p.m.

“We understand that demand for tickets for the RED bundle will most likely exceed supply, and would like to reiterate our immense gratitude for the tremendous support from the C of Red,” the Flames said in their statement. “Further updates will be provided through our social media channels.”

The Flames and Stars are tied 3-3 in their first-round NHL playoff series. The winner of Game 7 on Sunday night advances to the second round.
