Hartford Area Chamber Prepares for Hot Air Balloon Festival
Vermont Business Magazine The Quechee Hot Air Balloon Craft and Music Festival, New England’s longest-running hot air balloon festival, will celebrate its 42nd anniversary in 2022 when thousands are expected to flock to central Vermont June 17-19, 2022 (week -end of Father’s Day).
Twenty balloonists headline the event with five flights scheduled throughout the weekend and additional captive rides during the day. Attendees can visit 50 craft vendors, indulge in a variety of dishes from 16 food vendors, and sit and enjoy dozens of performers for all ages, over the three-day show. Activities for children include bubble machines, a climbing wall, a bouncy house and more. A variety of festival favorites and new food offerings with local healthy options and a beer and wine garden are planned.
“After getting back on track in 2021, we are proud to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the Quechee Hot Air Balloon Festival, which truly embodies what a community event stands for,” said PJ Skehan, executive director of the Hartford Area Chamber. , which hosts and manages the annual event. “Our sponsors, our volunteers and the city unite and mobilize each year to make it a benchmark event.”
Festival-goers are spoiled for choice during the three days of the event. They can start their day at sunrise and watch the morning balloon takeoffs while enjoying pizza and coffee for breakfast. The afternoon can be spent enjoying stellar entertainment or visiting the various artisans and food vendors. During the evening takeoff, you can dine and sit hillside on Quechee Green or consider waiting until dusk for the hot air balloon show.
Headlining this year’s three-day artist extravaganza are Pridein (Friday) Conniption adapts (Saturday) and Jay Nash (Sunday).
“The Quechee Balloon Festival is a tremendous boost to our local economy and businesses,” added Skehan. “We give the thousands of locals and visitors who support the event plenty of reasons to come to the festival and celebrate with us. It’s really just a fun time for everyone.
The dates for the Quechee Balloon Festival are June 17-19, 2022 (Father’s Day weekend). The hours are as follows: Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
