By Pierre Anosike

the leader of the Movement for Actualizing the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, yesterday led thousands of young people from the South East in a solidarity march in support of the candidacy of the governor of the state of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, in the 2023 presidential election.

The young people, who started the procession from the house of the leader of MASSOB in New Owerri, marched through the streets, carrying different placards, with inscriptions such as “Power to the youths, Support Yahaya Bello”, “Youth can also lead “, and “Yahaya Bello for young people”, among others.

The youths said the only solution to Nigeria’s political quagmire was for power to return to the youth.

They therefore declared that Governor Bello was the ideal candidate for the post of president of the country.

It’s worth recalling that Bello chose his expression of interest and nomination forms during the All Progressives Congress (APC) national secretariat on Wednesday.

Bello, who was the first to pay the N100 required for the forms, was received by a large crowd of party loyalists and support groups across the country, who urged him to run for president.

Uwazuruike advised Nigerians and party leaders to avoid zoning, saying it had no place in Nigeria’s constitution.
He also said his MASSOB/BIM would support Bello to become the next President of Nigeria as he had the leadership qualities to lead the country effectively.

He noted that power should go to the best in the race, adding that Governor Kogi was the best for the job.

“All Nigerians should rally behind the young governor, Yahaya Bello. Today, April 30, 2022, it’s all about Nigerian youth. We support Yahaya Bello for this and no one else. That he has the ability to solve the problem of insecurity and a host of others facing the nation is beyond doubt.

“This is a crucial moment in the history of the country. We must give a chance to young people, especially those who have shown extraordinary ability, in the person of Yahaya Bello,” he said.

Uwazuruike, who is also the founder of the Biafra Independent Movement, said he did not believe in a president of Igbo descent, insisting the contest be open.

Addressing the crowd who had come to greet him at the APC secretariat last Wednesday, Bello said: “At this moment what we have before us is a task of canvassing and consulting with all the faithful of the party. , leaders, delegates and devotees, members and all Nigerians, at home and even in the Diaspora to support us so that we become the flag bearer of this great party on 30th and 31st May 2022. And by God’s special grace, I am confident that I will become victorious and the party will become victorious.

“Yahaya Bello comes to the table to bring hope to Nigerians, all black Africans and the entire black nation across the world. This is the hope with which we embark. Unite, secure and put the country and our people on the path to prosperity.
