Katy’s Central Green Park kicks off 2022 with bigger events and free family entertainment

Katy’s Central Green Park is a half-acre public park dedicated to hosting events for Katy families, such as fitness classes, free movie nights, live music, and more. The multi-purpose venue promises bigger events this year as it continues to be a community gathering and celebration space.

Central Green Park hosts fun events for the Katy community

by Katy central green park, developed by Willow Fork Drainage District (WFDD,) is located on the south end of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. It is a true entertainment destination close to restaurants, theaters and libraries. The park provides a versatile venue for many permanent weekly events, monthly events, special events, etc.

“We have an exciting schedule for 2022,” says Willow Fork Drainage District Park Manager Yvonne Arceneaux. “We will have new festivals and events and we will bring back your favorite flagship events.”

Residents can also enjoy the outdoors in the beautiful space for weekly Tai Chi, Yoga on the Green, and Laughter Yoga.

It’s happening this weekend

Coming this weekend, Friday, January 21, Katyites can enjoy free live music to the sounds of the Brass Inferno big band. the The 12-piece Brass-Rock Party Band takes the stage from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Plus, this weekend is a free family movie night. On Saturday, January 22, families will be able to enjoy Paw Patrol: The Moviestarting at dusk. Bring snacks and a blanket.

H-Town’s Annual Sports Day Will Be Biggest Yet

The biggest upcoming event for Central Green Park is their 3rd Annual H-Town Sports Day. This year’s event promises to be the largest yet. The event is February 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Come meet some of your favorite athletes who play professionally for an H-town team or live here in the Houston area,” says Arceneaux. Players from the NFL, NBA, MLA, NASCAR and more will be in attendance.

Meet local athletes like Ryan Yarborough, Joe Wesley, Kyle Washington, Mike Holmes, Stevie Ray, Reggie Johnson, Garrick Jones, Robert Reid, Brandon Johnson, Anthony Goods, Reggie Rusk, David Lovelace, Amobi Okoye, The Shooting Stars, Diesel and the Houston Dynamo Street team.

Katy’s Ty Hymel will be there with his NASCAR.

Fitness professionals, trainers and experts will also be on hand to answer your fitness questions.

Big plans for 2022

There’s so much to look forward to this year now that Central Green Park has released its 2022 calendar of events.

April 2, 2022

12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Take a trip to Scotland on the green and listen to cultural music, play kid-friendly Highland games, enjoy dancing and colorful clothing. Rumor has it that Nessy, the Loch Ness Monster, may appear.
