Chardon domain fireworks
July 2nd
Chardon’s fireworks are fired from Chardon High School’s student parking lot. Fireworks set off shortly before 10 p.m.
The Chardon Area Fireworks Fund, Inc. has once again launched its annual Chardon Area Independence Day Celebration fundraising campaign. Please send to Chardon Area Fireworks, PO Box 336, Chardon OH 44024.
The school will also be open for the Chardon Alumni Association memorabilia exhibition. Music and concessions will be provided.
former glory days
July 4, 1-4 p.m.
The Chardon Square Association, the Town of Chardon and the Chardon Region Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring Old Glory Day in Chardon Square.
Decorations are offered to children to decorate their bikes, scooters or carts, followed by a parade of children around the square animated by the firefighters of Chardon.
The parade is followed by an afternoon of games, music, face painting, balloon animals and a pie contest. Rotary will provide ice cream, Kiwanis will provide balls for the bikes, and Wal-Mart will provide water.
Popcorn, hot dogs and other snacks are available for sale by the Chardon Square association.
West Geauga Kiwanis Parade
July 4, 11 a.m.
The West Geauga Kiwanis will host the Independence Day Parade from St. Anselm’s Church to West Geauga High School. The theme is “Honoring the Farmers of Geauga”.
Judging begins at 9:30 a.m. and the parade will begin at 11 a.m. sharp. The parade marshal is Clay Eddy.

Township of Thompson
4th July
The annual parade begins at 11 a.m. The theme is “Land Of The Free – Home Of The Brave”. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three floats that follow the theme.
The Geauga Highlanders Pipe and Drums will also take part in the parade and then perform in the square.
The festivities will take place at the plaza, Hemly’s Hardware and Thompson United Methodist Church.
