Thursday March 3
Forestview 5, Ashbrook 4: Tripp Dow’s brace in the seventh scored Landon Jenkins, lifting the Jaguars ahead of Crosstown rival Ashbrook. Dow was 2 for 4 in the game with one RBI and one run scored. For Ashbrook, John Ledbetter was 2-for-3 with a brace, an RBI and a run scored.
Highland Tech 11, Hunter Huss 1: Liam Fulbright was 2 for 4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored in a win over Hunter Huss. Gavin Blackwood finished 2 for 3 with a brace, RBI and three runs scored. Wyatt Hardin (2 for 4, 2 RBI) and Trey Costner (2 for 3, rush) also finished with a multi-hit game.
Kings Mountain 4, Shelby 0: The Kings Mountain pitchers struck out 15 in a win Thursday. Charlie Melton went five innings, allowing one hit and striking out nine, Jack Toney and Brayden Patrick striking out three each in relief.
Lincoln Charter 11, Mallard Creek 0: Four Lincoln Charter batters had two hits apiece in an easy win at Mallard Creek. Jacob Smith was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Mason Smith was also 2 for 4 with a brace, RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Steele and Gavin Williams also finished with two hits apiece.
Community Charter of Piedmont 14, Bessemer City 4: Chance Davis was 2-for-3 with a brace, an RBI and a run scored, while Maximo Betances scored a double, two RBIs and two runs in his team’s win. Jacob Roberts and David Adams also had a hit and two RBIs.
Dylan Towery was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Bessemer City, with Caleb Summey adding a double and an RBI.
HUNTING 10, Highland Tech 0: Highland Tech was no match for CHASE on Thursday.
Lake Norman 10, North Lincoln 0: North Lincoln was limited to two hits in a losing effort.
Lincolnton 17, South Point 2: Bailey Hollar was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored in his team’s win over South Point. Skylar Crane (2 for 3, two doubles, RBI), Ashley Antonio (2 for 3, double, two RBI, two runs), Karlie Williams (2 for 3, double, RBI, three runs), Savannah Hefner (2 for 3 , double, RBI, two runs) and Tanlee Eley (2 for 4, double, 3 RBI, run) have won multi-hit games for Wolves.
Eley also went five innings in the circle, striking out eight and allowing five hits.
Kendall Martin had a hit and an RBI, while Ashleigh Burns finished with a brace for South Point.
Stuart Cramer 5, Cherryville 4: A Cherryville error allowed Andrea Detweiler to score in the ninth inning Thursday, giving the Storm a narrow victory. Detweiler was 4 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Payton Conroy was 2-for-2 with a brace, home run and an RBI, while Braley Hamilton went 2-for-5 with a brace and a run scored. Hadley Womack also netted a brace for the Storm.
Taylor Digh (2 for 4, RBI, run) and Emma Proctor (2 for 5, run) finished with multi-hit games for Cherryville in a losing effort.
Ridge 1, East Rutherford 0: Cadence Setzer’s penalty turned out to be a winner, lifting Crest past East Rutherford.

Burns 6, Drawing 5: A two-out error allowed Colby Putnam to score, giving the Bulldogs a hard-fought victory in eight innings. Ashton Parker was 3 for 3 with an RBI, with Reid Stroupe going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Brady Mackall and Cody Mosteller had doubles in a winning effort.
Cherryville 6, West Lincoln 5: Cherryville avoided a sixth-round rally from West Lincoln, doing enough for a win. Will Heavner went 2-for-2 with a brace, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kanon Willis was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Landon Hahn was also 2-for-4 in a winning effort for the Ironmen.
Concord Academy 5, Gaston Day 2: Brody Smith was 1 for 3 with an RBI in a loss to Concord Academy. Carter Roberts, Caleb Russell, Brett Pressley and Will Herzog also had basic hits for Gaston Day.
East Lincoln 12, Hickory 0: Gavin Houser was 1-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and a run scored in his team’s win over Hickory to start conference play. Garrett Michel was 1 for 3 with a brace, an RBI and a run scored, with Evan Matile also earning a brace with three runs scored.

Gaston North 5, Gaston East 0: Kandan Zollo and Wyatt McSwain combined for an East Gaston hit on Friday. Zollo started, going 3.2 innings with three strikeouts and four walks. McSwain called in relief, striking out five.
Zollo, along with Nate Williams, Ryan Propst and Ashton Pope also finished with two hits apiece.

Highland Tech 9, Piedmont Community Charter 8: Abigale Harris was 4-for-4 with a triple and a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored, but Highland Tech’s two runs in the seventh passed the Patriots.
Grace East (2 for 4, two runs), Julianna East (2 for 3, triple, RBI, two runs) and Suzie Rhodes (2 for 4, RBI) led the way to defeat for Piedmont Community Charter.
Meredith Bolick, Maddie Sloop, Emma Ghorley, Zoey Whitten and Mary Claire Cupp each had hits in a winning effort for Highland Tech.
Kings Mountain 17, Shelby 0: Kali Weaver struck out 10, allowing two hits in a Kings Mountain rout. Austyn Dixon hit a two-run homer on a two-hit, two-RBI night. Alayna Patrick (2-for-5, triple, RBI, three-run) and Saniya Wilson (1-2, double, RBI, two-run) also did their part at the plate in a game-winning effort.
Mountain Island Charter 21, Lake Norman Charter 6: Aubrey White was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and four runs scored to lead the Raptors to a victory Friday. Nora Bryant was 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored, with Kylee Addington 3 for 3 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.
Elizabeth Knutson (2 for 4, double, RBI, two runs), Camden Gerland (2 for 3, double, two RBI, three runs), Lilyan Helms (2 for 4, double, RBI), Kaylan Brown (2 for 3 , double, three RBI, four runs) and Emma Hatzopoulos (2-for-3, RBI, run) each won multi-hit games in a game-winning effort.

Ridge 4, Smoky Mountain 2: Aidan Ledbetter allowed two runs on two hits and two walks, striking out nine as the Chargers picked up a win over Smoky Mountain. Sara Rose Warlick had two hits and two runs, Alexis Shope offered two hits, Riley Parker and Jaylen Ledbetter each contributed a hit and a run.
Ridge 14, Franklin 9: Mackenzie Luckenbaugh hit two homers and scored three runs to lead the Chargers past Franklin. Jourdan Martin also hit a home run and scored three runs. Sara Rose Warlick had four hits, including a double and three runs, while Alexis Shope also had four hits and two runs in a winning effort for Crest. Jaylen Ledbetter and Molly Beam also had two hits.
