Harlequins are delighted to announce the launch of a new event at Twickenham Stadium which will kick off this summer, building on the unprecedented demand for tickets to see Harlequins play, with every League game at the Stoop sold out this season for the champions of England.
The Gallagher Premiership tie between Harlequins and Gloucester Rugby on Saturday May 21 will be played at Twickenham Stadium, kick-off at 3pm. The match is the penultimate round of the season and with both teams battling for places in the coveted top four play-off spots, the game could be crucial.
The event, themed ‘Big Summer Kick-Off’, will see an array of entertainment and activities throughout the day, including a major entertainment act to be announced shortly and a group from the 2012 Premiership winning team will be in attendance as the event marks almost ten years to the day of our famous triumph at Twickenham Stadium. Rugby clubs and schools in the local community will also have the opportunity to get involved and play on the ground at The Stoop, Craneford Way and Twickenham Stadium on the day, with details to be announced shortly.
Harlequins CEO Laurie Dalrymple said: “We look forward to returning to Twickenham and playing again in front of our supporters and our community – it has certainly proved a happy hunting ground for us recently and the benefit that we draw from being roared by a packed house of Quins supporters cannot be understated.Over the last 10 years we have won 8 of our 11 matches at Twickenham and lost just once.
We have sold out every one of our Home Gallagher Premiership games this season and wanted to give as many supporters as possible the chance to come and watch the game. It’s really important for the club to grow, and of course the extra revenue from the event is critically important to the club as we strive to achieve long-term financial stability.
The event will be themed as a summer festival with a range of activities for families and adults throughout the day – from The Stoop stadium to Twickenham West Fan Village and then inside the stadium bowl. The famous ‘walkover’ of the players will once again allow home fans to roar the Stoop team at Twickenham Stadium. The West Fan Village will provide a great craft beer festival atmosphere, BBQs, live entertainment and family fun with fairground rides all included in the price.
Dalrymple added: “We have learned a great deal from 13 years of Big Game events at Twickenham and hope to bring the best of top class rugby game and family entertainment to this game. It will certainly be very different from our winter game and the ability to enjoy the afternoon sun and bring friends and family to Twickenham for such good value is an opportunity we know that our supporters will want to enjoy after so many fans have missed out on tickets. at The Stoop this season.
Club note that the day of the event is outside the regular season for the Allianz Premier 15 and at this stage it is unclear whether Harlequins Women will play. Should Harlequins qualify with home advantage for the league semi-finals, our intention is to work with all relevant stakeholders to determine whether the game could be moved to Twickenham Stadium.

Community club tickets from £27 for adults, £17 for children with areas at both ends of the pitch with additional family activities going on
Tickets on general sale from £29.50 for adults and £19.50 for children. Early Bird price offer for a limited time
