Give the TaxAct Texas Bowl a real welcome to Houston with many events

Start your New Year in the Houston style you can get, with rodeo, country music and college football.

Kansas State and LSU Head to NRG Stadium for Annual TaxAct Texas Bowl on Tuesday, Jan. 4, and you can help give them a true welcome to Houston with themed events happening all the time they’re in town.

Start the celebration on New Years Day with Rodeo bowl, presented by Kroger, to get your rodeo fix and help support DePelchin Kids’ Center.

This rodeo-themed event, held at the NRG Arena on Saturday January 1, in conjunction with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, has been called the nation’s top Bowl Week event.

And for the first time this year, you are invited. The Rodeo Bowl Corral opens outside the NRG Arena with a petting zoo, face painting and more at 3:30 p.m., then players from Team K-State and LSU will face off in hilarious and exciting competitions on the theme of rodeo in the arena from 5 p.m.

Young country music talent Kyle Park and Jon Stork will take to the Goode Company stage at 7 p.m. for a free concert with your Rodeo Bowl ticket.

Keep the party going with Mike Ryan live at Karbach launch concert Monday January 3. This show is free to all Houstonians and city fans for the game – just submit your RSVP and head to downtown The Rustic, where doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, January 4 is your last chance to experience a game day on Houston’s biggest stage. Put on your tailgate and head to the NRG Stadium to Karbach Love Street TexFest, the official pre-game night of the TaxAct Texas Bowl, and enjoy food, drink and rising country music star Triston Marez live on the main stage.

So have fun and experience the very first public Rodeo Bowl presented by Kroger, a Karbach kickoff concert and game day festivities to start your year off right.
