Derrick Henry hands out free school supplies and bikes in Yulee, Fla. Back to school


We know him as a Heisman Trophy winner, a national championship, a two-time NFL champion, and arguably the most dominant running back in professional play today.

When he’s not giving the blues to tackles on Sunday, Derrick Henry is a man of the people.

He’s another who has taken Nick Saban’s message on others and applied it to his lifestyle.

Last week, the Tennessee Titans star was at her home in Yulee, Florida. He was a monster at Yulee High School, and his production saw him become a Five Star Rookie in 2013. Henry and his family were home on another mission, and this one involved sowing in the lives of young people. .

He organized a back to school event and distributed school supplies, backpacks and bicycles to 200 children. Jamal St. Cyr, WJXT Channel 4 sports presenter in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, captured the video.

Gladys Henry, Derrick’s grandmother, made sure her grandson had everything he needed as a child.

He honored her when he gave his Heisman speech in 2015 and continues to honor her.

Crimson Tide fans love to watch him hit the defenses, but it warms their hearts to see former players giving back to communities.
