CROWN POINT – The annual Corn Roast presented by Purdue Federal Credit Union returns August 27-28, bringing with it live entertainment, family entertainment, food, drink and corn.

It’s at Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St., Crown Point. The Corn Roast is hosted by the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce and has been an annual tradition at Crown Point for decades.

It opens at 5 p.m. on August 27 and continues until 11 p.m.

Work DJs perform from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and family quizzes and contests take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The PRX (Party Rock Xperience) takes the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The beer garden opens at 5:00 p.m. and food vendors will be ready to serve a variety of favorites including barbecues, pizza. , sweet treats and more.

The corn roast starts at noon on August 28, until 11 p.m.

DJ Five Star will perform from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Jack Cunningham will play a selection of acoustic music from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sticky Scissors will take the stage from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The beer garden opens at 4 p.m.

This year’s event will also feature the experimental trailer for Purdue Federal Credit Union and NASA astronaut and Crown Point native Jerry Ross.

Ross will be at the booth for a meeting from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 28; no costs are associated with the meeting and the reception.
