BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State women’s bowling team had a perfect weekend at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I hosted by Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Bulldogs improved their overall record to 17-8 after a 12-0 showing against the CIAA Northern. Division Opponents at the Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center.
The Bulldogs combined for 6,159 total pins and 2,135 pins at Baker for 8,294 total, which was best among CIAA North and third overall. BSU Anthony Paris achieved the highest GPA (150.00) and highest score (182) in the North Division.
Bowie State posted wins over Virginia Union (657-526), Elizabeth City State (746-608), and Virginia State (629-570), followed by a 629-570 win over the Lady Panthers in Game 4 and a 665-630 advantage over the Lady Vikings in Game 5.
On day two, Bowie State continued their momentum with four straight wins, including a dominating 745-572 win over VUU. At the Bakers, the Bulldogs posted three straight wins over VSU (715-534), ECSU (677-648) and VUU (747-529) on Sunday.
Bowie State will be back in February (10-12) for the Fayetteville State-hosted CIAA Roundup.
