BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Soccer has added Vanderbilt Quinn Cornog transfer to roster as midfielder for 2022 campaign, head coach G Guerrieri announced Friday.
“It’s a huge addition for us,” Guerrieri said. “Quinn is a great player and a leader who fits our culture and style of play perfectly. It’s great for A&M that an All-SEC caliber player is returning to her home country to help us compete for another championship. “
Cornog, who comes to Aggieland with three years of eligibility, has played all 19 freshman Vanderbilt games in 2021, including three starts. She scored one goal and two assists. Cornog won the recognition of the first year of the South Eastern Conference week on October 29 after scoring an 88e-minute, winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Georgia.
The Dallas native stood out at Highland Park High School. She racked up 32 goals and 19 assists as a senior to become All-State and District 13-5A First Team MVP. Cornog won United Soccer Coaches’ Southern Region First Team honors in 2019 and 2020.
Cornog stood out with the Solar Soccer Club where she played for coaches Adrian Solca and Derek Missimo. She was captain of Solar SC’s # 1 ranked U18 Development Academy team in 2020 and of the Development Academy’s national champion team in 2019. Cornog has also won national titles with Solar SC at the USYS U13 level in 2016 and at the ECNL U14 level in 2017. She also gained valuable experience at the US Soccer Regional Training Center from 2015 to 2017 and the Generation Adidas US Select program at Olympique Lyonnias in 2019.
